Bardstown man charged in November burglary of Purcell Avenue home

Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, 11:55 a.m. — A Bardstown man was charged with first-degree burglary charges following a Bardstown Police investigation of a Nov. 21 burglary of a Purcell Avenue home from which several firearms were stolen.
On Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, Bardstown Police located two shotguns and two rifles near a utility pole in the vicinity of 182 Robin Drive. Police determined several of the weapons were stolen during at least one recent burglary. A police search of the home at 182 Robin Dr., police located a 32-inch TV that was stolen during the Nov. 21 burglary.
Quacy L. Sheckles, 20, of Bardstown, was charged with one count of first-degree burglary. Sheckles was already in jail on earlier stolen firearm charges.
Bardstown Police Detective Lynn Davis is working with federal authorities in regard to possible federal charges in connection to the burglaries.
