Obituary: Cora Ben Lopes, 78, Fairfield

Cora Ben Lopes, 78, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. She was the former Cora Ben Hughes, born February 15, 1936 to the late Chester and Rossie Brown Hughes. She was a former nurse’s aid at the Sister’s of Charity at Nazareth, and a member of the Fairfield Second Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Joann Hughes of Bloomfield and Sue Hughes of Fairfield; one 1 brother, Chester Hughes of Taylorsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen by the family.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
