Obituary: Eva Kathryn Simpson, 99, Bloomfield

Eva Kathryn Simpson, 99, of Bloomfield, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at her home. She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Washington County to the late Steve and Clora Brown Sparrow. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chaplin Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Simpson; one son, Paul Simpson; her parents; and one great-granddaughter, Nicole Simpson.

She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Hackman (Mike) of Ponchatula, La.; two sons, Roger Simpson (Edna) of Lebanon Junction and Dale Simpson (Joyce) of Bloomfield; one sister, June Bean of Cox’s Creek; one brother, J.T. Sparrow of Shepherdsville; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Ronnie Hupp officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
