Obituary: Elizabeth Louise ‘Betty Lou’ Mattingly Brady, 79, Springfield
Elizabeth Louise “Betty Lou” Mattingly Brady, 79, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014. She was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Calvary. She was a former Kroger employee.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Hilman Brady, Jr; her second husband, Carl Thomas Brady; her parents, Henry F. and Mallie Spalding Mattingly; three sisters, Ruth Ann Sapp, Eleanora Wade, Jane Frances Nally; and two brothers, Vincent Mattingly and Henry Mattingly.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Coe of Jamestown, Sheryl (Garry) Brady of Calvary; two sons, Benny (Colleen “Cookie”) Brady of St. Joe and Larry (Liz) Brady of Finley; five stepdaughters, Cathy McManus of Augusta, Ga., Carla (John) Southerland of Atlanta, Lois (Eddie) Noel of Thompsonville, Peggy (Steve) Bagwell of Campbellsville and Tammy (Travis) Cocanougher of Springfield; three stepsons, Ricky Brady and Leroy (Betty) Brady, both of Bardstown and George (Dianne) Brady of South Carolina; three sisters, Eunice Luckett of Louisville, Jeanette (Roger) Hughes of Raywick and Rosie Mattingly of Lebanon; one half-sister, Fran (Donnie) Craven of Louisville; one brother, Billy (Doris) Mattingly of Lebanon; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 22 stepgrandchildren; and 23 stepgreat-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church celebrated by the Rev. Trumie Culpepper Elliott. Burial is in the St. Joe Community Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a prayer service at at 7 p.m.
