Obituary: Marilyn Miller Head Culver ‘Toodles’, 78, Bardstown

Marilyn Miller Head Culver “Toodles”, 78, of Bardstown, died peacefully with her family by her side at Norton Healthcare Pavillion in Louisville on Saturday, January 3, 2015.

MARILYN MILLER HEAD ‘TOODLES’ CULVER

She was born on June 27, 1936. She was the daughter of Mary Alice Miller and Dee Head of Gethsemani. She received her nursing degree from the Danville School of Nursing. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of St. Thomas Parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Richard “Dickie” Culver; one son, Stephen Richard Culver; one son-in-law, Anthony Wynn Dugan; her parents, Dee and Mary Alice Miller Head; two sisters, Ann Stanley and Charlotte “Bow” Rogers.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Culver Dugan of Bardstown; one son, Larry Wayne Culver of New Haven; one sister, Vienna Bradley (Donald) of Bardstown; one brother, William Head (Rose) of Louisville; two grandsons, Garrett Dugan and Grant Dugan, both of Bardstown;  two granddaughters, Kellie Culver and Olivia Culver Smith (Brandon), both of Georgia; and five great-grandchildren, Layken Do Dugan, Ava Smith, Everrett Smith, Easton Smith and Anderson Smith.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Brown celebrating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association in her honor.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
