Police: Bardstown man arrested for burglarizing his roommate’s room

Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, 11 p.m. — Bardstown Police arrested a 22-year-old Bardstown man Tuesday on burglary charges after investigators determined he broke into a roommate’s bedroom and stole a variety of electronic games and accessories.
On Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, Bardstown Police were called to investigate a burglary reported at an apartment at 100 Cathedral Manor. Police determined that Cory Wayne Cox, 22, of Bardstown, a resident of the apartment, broke into a roommate’s room and took electronics from it and then attempted to make it appear the entire residence was burglarized.
Police say Cox allegedly left the apartment and waited for his girlfriend who was not involved to discover the burglary and report it to police. Police recovered a PlayStation 4, games and video game components in their investigation.
Cox was charged second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking and tampering with physical evidence after he admitted to police he was involved in the burglary.
