Three indicted for failing to comply with terms of Sex Offender Registry

Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, 8 a.m. — Three Nelson County men were indicted Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, by a Nelson County grand jury on charges that they failed to comply with the terms of their registration on the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry.
Travis S. Hill, 25, of Bloomfield, was indicted for failure to comply with sex offender registration and for failing to register the social media account he had opened in his name with the local probation and parole office. Due to his prior felony conviction, Hill was also indicted for being a persistent felony offender. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
James M. Clark, 35, of Bardstown, was indicted for failure to comply with the terms of the Sex Offender Registry and for failing to register his social media and PlayStation Network accounts with the local probation and parole office. Clark was also indicted for being a persistent felony offender. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.
David Hood, 34, of Bardstown, was also indicted for failing to comply with the terms of the registry and for failing to register his social media identity with probation and parole. His bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions.
Failure to comply with the terms of the Sex Offender Registry is a Class D felony punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison. Failure to register a chat/IM/social network account is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to 12 months in jail.
The men will be arraigned on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, in Nelson Circuit Court.
