Obituary: Jewell Burns Lanham, 91, Gravel Switch

Jewell Burns Lanham, 91, of Gravel Switch, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at her home. She was born Nov. 18, 1923, in Gravel Switch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lee Lanham; her parents, Curtis and Edith Graham Burns; one daughter, Connie Jane Murphy; one granddaughter, Lesley Murphy Barr; one grandson, Mark Lee Lanham; one sister, Juanita Fincher.

Survivors include one daughter, Mona Lisa (Rex) Whitlock of Gravel Switch; three sons, Jerry Lee (Joyce) Lanham of Gravel Switch, and Neil Thornton (Jackie) Lanham and Bradley Thomas (Debbie) Lanham, both of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at the Bosley Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Carl Roller. Burial is in the Haysville Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to Manna Harvest Church Maintenance Fund or to the Haysville Cemetery Fund.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
