Obituary: Ethel Thomas Bradshaw, 101, Calvary
Ethel Thomas Bradshaw, 101, of Calvary, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Village of Lebanon. She was born Oct. 27, 1913, in Calvary. She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Elbert Bradshaw; her parents, Joseph Samuel and Nora Mattingly Thomas; one daughter, Charlene Cave; four sisters, Mary Abell, Ella Abell, Lucille Thomas and Mary Thomas; four brothers, Kelly Thomas, Bruce Thomas, Joe Thomas and Spalding Thomas; and one great-great-grandson, Dillon Bradshaw.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances “Bootsy” Spalding of Calvary and Cathy Wheatley of Louisville; three sons, Jimmy (Harriet) Bradshaw and Freddy (Mary Elizabeth) Bradshaw, both of Louisville, and Carl (Margaret) Bradshaw of Calvary; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Calvary. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at the Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mass of the Air or Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
