Obituary: Charles Louis Brinley Jr., 85, Bloomfield
Charles Louis Brinley Jr., 85, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at the Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center in Louisville. He was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Nelson County to the late Louis and Anna Bessie Cecil Brinley. He was a farmer, a former employee of Big Burley Tobacco Warehouse, an avid tractor puller, traveler, and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Spalding Miles Brinley; two daughters, Brenda Wheatley (Mitchell) and Jan Brady (Wally), both of Lebanon; three sons, Billy Miles (Mary Jane) of Lebanon, Doug Miles and Steve Miles, both of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Mark Spalding and the Rev. Bill Hammer concelebrating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with a prayer service Sunday evening.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Autism Research.
The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
