MARJORIE HOOD SCOTT

Marjorie Hood Scott, 87, of Chaplin, died at 3:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at the Heritage Hall Health & Rehab Center in Lawrenceburg. She was a native of Nelson County and born on Dec. 2, 1927, to the late Isaiah and Worley Royalty Hood. She was a lifelong member of the Chaplin Baptist Church, a graduate of the last graduating class of Chaplin High School, a homemaker and a retired employee of the General Electric Company of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chauncy Scott on July 24, 1997; and one sister, Buford Curtsinger.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah King (Bradley) of Burgin, Theresa Byrd (Doug) of Chaplin and Eleanor Currens of Salvisa; two sons, Lavalle Scott and Jeffery Scott (Audrey), both of Lawrenceburg; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Chaplin Baptist Church with interim pastor, the Rev. Jeff Walters, officiating. Burial is in the High View Cemetery at Chaplin.

Pallbearers are Denver Scott, William J. Currens, Dallas Scott, Lee Scott, Quentin Byrd, Trent Hazelwood, Mason Hazelwood, Richard Nalley, Joseph Harris and Mike McKenzie.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Chaplin Baptist Church.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
