Obituary: Emisdell Cathy Paige, 81, formerly of Bardstown

Emisdell Cathy Paige, 81, of Louisville, formerly of Bardstown, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Meadowview Rehab in Louisville. She was born in Nelson County on Jan. 15, 1934, to the late George funeral_flowerand Kate Bland Lamar. She graduated from Bardstown Training School in 1951, Tucker Beauty School in 1954, and owned and opened her own shop, Lamar Beauty Shop, for 22 years. She also worked as a sitter at Tender Loving Care for more than 20 years. She was a member of Magazine Street Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Louisville where she was a member of the Deaconess, Senior Choir and Community Guest. She was a friendly, warm and loving person and well known and loved in her neighborhood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mims Paige; one daughter, Donna Mea Whitlock; and one grandson, Dominair Gardner Lamar.

She leaves to mourn and rejoice in her life one daughter, Esterlena Berry of Jeffersonville, Ind.; one son Joe (Sandra) Lamar of Bardstown; three stepsons, Donald Paige Jr., and Gary Paige, both of Louisville and Michael Paige of Bardstown; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Joe Mallory officiating.

Visitation is 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
