Obituary: Joseph Gary Blanford, 64, Loretto
Joseph Gary Blanford, 64, of Loretto, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, in Taylor County as a result of a farm accident. He was born Sept. 8, 1950, in Holy Cross. He was a farmer and a salesman with T & H Feed Service in Lebanon. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Earl and Mary Kathleen Lyvers Blanford; and one brother, Francis Earl “Frankie” Blanford, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Paulette Gardner Blanford; four daughters, Michelle Gephart (George) of Cox’s Creek, Rhonda Mattingly (Robbie) of Lawrenceburg, Mindy Tucker (Kevin) of Bardstown and Ashley Butzer (Kyle) of Quantico, Va.; five sisters, Beverly Burton (Ben) of Mount Washington, Diane Koob (Mark) of Balltown, and Mary Pat Moore (Tom), Jeanette Benjamin (Stephen) and Kathy Brady, all of Bardstown; six brothers, Barry Blanford (Sandra), David Blanford and Ricky Blanford (Mary Ann), all of Holy Cross, Mickey Blanford (Linda) of Springfield, Neil Blanford (Dale) of Bardstown and Jimmy Blanford (Nancy) of St. Francis; eight grandchildren, Savannah Mills, Brianna Mattingly, Darrin Blanford, Dylan Gephart, Alexandria Blanford, Cameron Mattingly, McKenzie Butzer and Tristan Tucker; two great-grandsons, Jake Blanford and Kaden Martin;
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 North Saint Francis Road, Loretto, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kandor will officiate.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by the Rev. Deacon Dennis May.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
