Obituary: Anna Lee Brown, 79, Bardstown

Anna Lee Brown, 79, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at her home. She was born April 17, 1935, in Buffalo. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

funeral_doveShe was preceded in death by one son, James T. Brown; her parents, David and Addie Lee Shofner, and Thomas Higdon; one sister, Janet Mattingly; three brothers, Thomas Higdon, Carl Shofner, and Harold Higdon; and one grandson, Jeremy Brown.

She is survived by her husband, William Brown of Bardstown; three daughters, Stephanie (Rick) Bastin of Nicholasville, and Patty (Cliff) Buzick and Kathy (Charlie) Downs, both of Bardstown; two sons, Billy (Paula) Brown and Mike (Lisa) Brown, both of Bardstown; herĀ stepmother, Ola Higdon; one sister, Georgia Reynolds of Louisville; three brothers, Charles Higdon of Mount Washington, and Eddie Higdon and Charles Oschner, both of Louisville; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Her Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is Tuesday evening.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
