Bardstown firefighters respond to fire reported at Whitesides Road home

Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, 5:50 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 500 block of Whitesides Road at 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. When the fire department’s first unit arrived, the problem was found to be food burned in a microwave oven. Firefighters determined the fire was contained within the oven, and they used their equipment to remove smoke from the home. They were on scene for about 45 minutes.
