Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 — A Danville man suspected of being one of two men involved in the armed kidnapping of a Kansas City, Mo., man on Jan. 22 was arrested in Lincoln County Tuesday after a vehicle and foot pursuit.
The FBI confirmed that Robert “Robbie” Caldwell, 25, of Danville was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday in Lincoln County by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The kidnapping victim’s van was found wrecked and abandoned at Exit 21 of the BG Parkway on the evening of Friday, Jan. 23. A witness said the driver walked away on foot. Soon after the crash, a gray 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse was stolen from a home nearby, and police believed Caldwell was driving the car.
Before his arrest, police said they had reports that Caldwell was in the Danville area last Saturday en route to Lexington. The second suspect in the kidnapping remains at large.
