Three children injured Sunday in head-on crash on High Grove hill

Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, 3 p.m. — Two children suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle head-on collision on High Grove hill.
At 1:25 p.m., Nelson County EMS and police were dispatched to an injury accident at High Grove involving a Volvo sport-utility vehicle and a front-wheel drive passenger car. According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, the northbound Volvo lost control, sideswiped a Jeep Wrangler before hitting a Scion head-on. The accident blocked both lanes of traffic for more than an hour. EMS transported a 9-year-old girl complaining of hip pain and a 19-month-old girl with a possible fractured nose to Flaget Memorial Hospital. One person rode with the victims to the hospital; a 17-year-old refused transport by EMS was was taken by personal vehicle to Flaget for treatment.
