Nelson County Schools operating on 2-hour delay due to power outage

Tuesday, April 26, 2011, 7:17 a.m. — Nelson County Schools will be operating on a 2-hour delay today due to a power outage in the Bloomfield/Northeast Nelson County area. WBRT radio is reporting that a storm knocked out power to the Bloomfield/Chaplin area. Kentucky Utilities is reporting a power outage in Bloomfield and north of the city on KY 55 into Spencer County serving between 50 and 500 customers. KU estimates that power will be restored by9:30 this morning. KU is also reporting a power outage in the New Hope area.
