Fugitive search by police leads to arrest of two General Nelson Inn guests

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, 1 p.m. — At 4:11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, police located Jonathon Christopher Burba, 34, of Bardstown and Bellicia Manigold Maxwell after police surveillance efforts to locate Burba, who was wanted for a parole violation. Police located the two in room 102 at the General Nelson Inn, 414 W. Stephen Foster Ave.
While detectives talked with Maxwell, Burba attempted to flush drug paraphernalia in the bathroom. Police recovered digital scales and aluminum foil from the toilet. While talking with Burba, police believe he was hiding contraband on his body. A search revealed that Burba was concealing three baggies of marijuana, prescription medications, cocaine and amphetamines in a latex glove wedged between his butt cheeks.
Burba was charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree (cocaine); trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces; possession of a controlled substance, second-degree (amphetamine); possession of a controlled substance, second-degree, drug unspecified; tampering with physical evidence; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Maxwell was charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree, drug unspecified; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Burba and Maxwell were arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
