TASSE ELVINA TUNGATE NELSON PEAKE

Tassie Elvina Tungate Nelson Peake, 72, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1942, in Marion County. She was a homemaker, and was married March 21, 1975, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ida Jean Barnes and Mary Elvina Downs; her parents, Robert and Ida Mae Tungate; one sister, Tranna Greer; four brothers, Lonnie Tungate, Larry “Bud” Tungate, Sandy Tungate, and Whitie Tungate; and one son-in-law, William Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel “Danny” Joseph Peake;
two sons, Tim (Kim) Nelson, and Bobby (Crystal) Nelson all of Bardstown;
two daughters, Trina (Kevin Terrell) Smith of Loretto, and Carol (Randy) Maddox of Danville; four sisters, Carolyn (Lloyd) Waltermire, Linda Hadley, and Jeanie Miller, all of North Vernon, Ind., and Roxie Mitchell of Campbellsville; two brothers, Clifton Tungate of North Vernon, Ind. and Maxie Tungate of Scipio, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Dr. Rick Loader officiating.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The Barlow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
