Obituary: Donnie ‘Buckeye’ Adams, 68, Bardstown

Donnie “Buckeye” Adams, 68, of Bardstown, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Baptist Health. He was born June 11, 1946, in Louisville. He retired from Barton’s Distillery after 42 years. He played in the funeral_doveJoe Benny Dickerson Golf League. He loved fishing, motorcycles, his classic cars, and his special dog Abby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lena Belle Adams; three sisters, Faye Robinson, Melvie Force and Betty Hayes; and three brothers, Dick Adams, Paul Adams and Ernest Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Adams of Bardstown; two daughters, Jackie Fenwick (Rob) and Amy Hogue (Steven), both of Bardstown; one son, Donald Wayne “Duck” Adams (Tina) of Bardstown; one sister Catherine “Cathy” Downs (Joe) of Bardstown; one special sister-in-law, Shirley Adams of Bardstown; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery with Deacon Sam Filiatreau officiating.

Barlow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
