One man suffers minor injuries Friday in single-vehicle rollover crash at Botland

Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, 9 p.m. — A 28-year-old Springfield man suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover accident in the 5500 block of Springfield Road in the Botland community east of 
Bardstown.
Nelson County EMS, the Bardstown Fire Department, and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was called at 3:49 p.m. to respond to the injury crash near the Botland pay lake.
First-responders found the driver, David Edelen, of Springfield, unresponsive and pinned in his vehicle, a 2001 Ford. Police believe the man blacked out or had a seizure, and his car left the highway and traveled down an embankment. Traffic was blocked at Botland while emergency crews worked the accident.
Firefighters freed the victim, who was transported by EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment of possible head and back injuries. First-responders were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
