Two people injured in two-vehicle crash Saturday on Bloomfield Road

Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, 10 p.m. — Two people were injured — one seriously — in a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Banjo Street and Bloomfield Road Saturday evening.

Nelson County EMS, police and The Bardstown Fire Department responded at 6:06 p.m. Friday for the crash involving a pickup truck that struck a passenger car.

EMS transported a 56-year-old female passenger of the pickup truck to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment. The 72-year-old male driver of the truck was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and was then taken to Flaget’s helipad and airlifted by helicopter to University Hospital with back pain and a fractured pelvis.
