Monday’s garbage collection delayed; weather cancels school for Tuesday

Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, 4:30 p.m. — All local school districts have canceled classes for Tuesday, Feb. 17 due to the hazardous road conditions.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College has canceled classes for Tuesday as well.

COUNTY GARBAGE COLLECTION. Monday’s garbage collection in the county is being postponed. Garbage collection in the county will continue Tuesday on its regulcar schedule if road conditions permit.

In a press release from landfill manager Brad Spalding, Monday’s garbage customers are asked to leave their garbage out, and as the week progresses, the county crews will collect it.

Any garbage not collected during this period can be placed out on their next scheduled collection day.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY. The Kentucky Senate and House of Representatives will not convene on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Tuesday’s legislative committee meetings have also been canceled.

Both chambers are scheduled to convene on Wednesday, Feb. 18, with the Senate going into session at 2 p.m. and the House at 4 p.m.
