Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, 1:15 p.m. — County road crews have been busy keeping roads clear of snow, but their work often pushes snow into private driveway entrances.
Nelson County Judge Executive Dean Watts is asking for the public’s patience in dealing with this inconvenience. In a press release issued Wednesday, Watts said there was no way snow plows can do their job without also pushing snow into driveway entrances.
Road crews made significant progress Tuesday clearing county roads of nearly 12 inches of snow. Snow removal crews were back in action Wednesday after additional snow arrived, along with gusty winds blowing snow back on roadways. The plowing will continue to push snow into driveway entrances, he said.
“We ask that neighbor help neighbor with this additional clearning process,” Watts said in the press release.
Due to the coming extremely low temperatures, Watts also advised residents to leave their water faucets dripping to prevent water lines from freezing.
