NE Nelson firefighters called for vent fan fire at Dollar General

Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, 1:15 a.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was called out just after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning to the Dollar General Store, 35 Arnold Lane in Bloomfield, to investigate a ventilation fan that caught on fire in a bathroom.

Firefighters checked the crawl space above the bathroom and determined the fire was out and it had not spread. Fire crews disconnected power to the fan and removed it and then used their equipment to ventilate the building. Firefighters were on the scene for about 40 minutes.
