Bardstown firefighters respond Saturday to Pinehurst Drive dryer fire

Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, 11:58 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called out just after 9 p.m. fireshieldSaturday night for a dryer fire at a home in the 100 block of Pinehurst Drive off Poplar Flat Road. Firefighters arrived to find an active fire in the home that had spread from the utility room to the kitchen and into the attic. Power was shut off to the home while firefighters fought the blaze. Firefighters had control of the fire in less than an hour.

Firefighters were called back to the home at 12:25 a.m. Sunday morning after the fire in the attic rekindled. Fire crews extinguished the fire and removed large amounts of charred insulation from the attic.
