Police, EMS respond to reported domestic assault Sunday morning

Sunday, March 1, 2015, 2 a.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded Sunday morning to report of a 33-year-old pregnant woman who was allegedly assaulted by her husband at their home in the Oak Knoll subdivision off Greer Lane. Nelson County EMS and police were dispatched to the area of the Oak Knoll subdivision for a reported domestic violence incident at about 12:42 a.m. Sunday. While police were responding to the call, the male subject involved in the assault left the home but later returned to the residence. He was questioned by police and later arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. EMS did not treat or transport the woman and cleared the scene.
