Obituary: James Paul Newton, 67, formerly of New Haven
James Paul Newton, 67, of Buffalo, formerly of New Haven, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Kensington Center in Elizabethtown. He was a retired truck driver for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. He was born June 4, 1947, in New Haven. He was the son of the late Joseph Gordon Newton and Violet Peppers.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” DeVore Newton of Buffalo; two son, James “Jimmy” Newton of New Haven and James Paul Newton of Bardstown; three stepsons, Anthony Wayne Stinnett, Brandon Lee Stinnett and Allen Michael Stinnett, all of Buffalo; his stepmother, Aline Newton of Elizabethtown; one sister, Sheila (Donnie) Abel of Hodgenville; two brothers, Joseph Kenneth “Kenny” Newton of New Haven and Thomas L. “Tommy” (Karen) Newton of Icetown; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2015, in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven, with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. The burial is private.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2015, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2015, at the funeral home.
