Obituary: John Richard “Johnny” Nalley Jr., 71, formerly of Culvertown
John Richard “Johnny” Nalley Jr., 71, of Mount Washington, formerly of Culvertown, died Friday, March 13, 2015, Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Francis of Xavier Catholic Church in Mount Washington. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of service as a production control specialist. He was an avid UK fan and loved to play golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard Nalley Sr. and Mary Esther Culver Nalley; and one sister, Joann Nalley.
He is survived by one son, Patrick Nalley of Louisville; four sisters, Madeline Webb, Mary “Boonie” Brown (Jimmy) and Donna Harbison (James), all of Louisville, and Betty Wilson of Simpsonville; and two brothers, Charlie Nalley (Peggy) of Louisville and Ed Nalley (Louise) of Bardstown.
The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown, with his nephew, the Rev. Joseph Mary Brown and the Rev. Troy Overton concelebrating. Burial is in the St. Thomas Church Cemetery in Bardstown.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, and 8-9:30 a.m. Monday, March 16 at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. A prayer service is 6 p.m. Sunday with Deacon Arnold Downs.
