Obituary: Michael Alvin ‘Mike’ Jackey, 66, Bardstown

Michael Alvin “Mike” Jackey, 66, of Bardstown, died Friday, March 13, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born March 9, 1949, in Louisville. He was a farmer, salesman, owner of funeral_lilyBikes N Bargains and owner of Jackey Photography. He enjoyed working with kids in FFA, 4-H, Boy Scouts, and also in his passion for photography. He attended the University of Kentucky where he was a Wildcat fan, and he attended Nelson Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Evelyn Jackey; and one nephew, Markie Jackey.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Jackey; one son, Damon (Lori) Jackey of Bardstown; one granddaughter, Jennifer Jackey of Bardstown; one grandson, Daniel Jackey of Bardstown; one brother, Mark (Meagan) Jackey of Caneyville; two uncles, Dennis (Jana) Klattenberg of Ashland and Jack (Eva) Jackey of Florida; one brother-in-law, Mike (Gert) Freholm of Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the White Mills Community Cemetery. Steve Roberts and Dr. Tom Mobley will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to American Cancer Society.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
