Nelson Circuit Court Indictments–March 18, 2015

indictmentThursday, March 19, 2015 – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. They are scheduled for arraignment Thursday, April 2, 2015, unless otherwise indicated.

15-CR-063. Joseph D. Hicks, 33, Louisville, fragrant non-support; persistent felony offender, second-degree.

According to the indictment, from May 1, 2007 through Nov. 28, 2014, Hicks allegedly failed to pay support he knew he was ordered to pay resulting in an arrearage of $21,705.91. The indictment cites Hicks’ prior felony conviction as basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-064. Ouckie J. Hughes, 31, Bardstown, fleeing and evading police, first-degree; assault, third-degree (2 counts); resisting arrest (2 counts); criminal mischief, second-degree; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Feb. 15, 2015, Hughes allegedly disobeyed a direction to stop and fled from Bardstown Police before fighting with Officers Jeremy Cauley and Reese Riley while attempting to prevent being arrested. On the same date, Hughes is alleged to have damaged property belonging to another person causing a loss of $500 or more. The indictment cites Hughes’ prior felony convictions as basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-065. Vincent D. Nethery, 22, Bardstown, fleeing and evading police, first-degree; wanton endangerment, first-degree (4 counts); wanton endangerment, first-degree, police officer (7 counts); criminal mischief, first-degree; violation of an EPO/DVO; reckless driving; speeding, 26 mph or more over limit; disregarding traffic control device (3 counts).

According to the indictment, on Feb. 8, 2015, Nethery allegedly attempted to elude police, driving recklessly by disregarding stop lights, passing vehicles and entering oncoming traffic lanes causing several vehicles to go off the roadway. The indictment alleges Nethery nearly lost control of his vehicle and struck another vehicle while turning north on North Third Street; nearly sideswiped a vehicle and ran another off the road as he drove at a high rates of speed south on US31E; ran through three red lights; drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of East Stephen Foster, running a vehicle off the road and endangering the safety of two Nelson County deputies and five Bardstown Police officers. The indictment further alleges Nethery caused $1,000 or more in damages to property belonging to another person and violated a domestic violence order in the process. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-066. Trevor Shane Ballard, 27, Bardstown, theft by unlawful taking/disposition-shoplifting.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 24, 2015, Ballard allegedly took a 40-inch TV belonging to Wal-Mart having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-067. Abby Day, 26, Shelbyville, possession of controlled substances, first-degree (drug unspecified).

According to the indictment, on Dec. 31, 2014, Day was allegedly found in possession of cocaine. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-068. Johnathan E. Thompson, 26, Bloomfield, burglary, second-degree; sexual abuse, first-degree (3 counts).

According to the indictment, on Feb. 8, 2015, Thompson allegedly entered another person’s residence with the intent to commit a crime and engaged in sexual contact with another person by use of forcible compulsion. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-069. Leslie A. Johnson, 48, Bardstown, knowingly exploiting an adult by another person, over $300; theft by unlawful taking; tampering with physical evidence; theft of identity of another without consent; receiving stolen property.

According to the indictment, between Oct. 1, 2014 and Feb. 2, 2015, Johnson allegedly exploited an individual by stealing the individual’s bank checks having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000 and attempted to hide them in a book when she realized an official investigation was under way. The indictment alleges that Johnson used Wal-Mart gift cards owned by another person having a value of less than $500. The indictment further alleges that Johnson stole another individual’s identity by taking their driver’s license. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-070. Matthew C. Saylor, 32, Loretto, possession of a forged instrument, second-degree; giving police officer a false name or address.

According to the indictment, on Jan. 31, 2015, Saylor allegedly possessed a forged drivers license, and gave a false name and address to Bardstown Police Officer Jeremy Cauley. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-071. Sean Michael Sills, 30, Whiteland, Ind., flagrant non-support.

According to the indictment, from Dec. 1, 2014 through Feb. 28, 2015, Sills allegedly failed to provide support he knew he was ordered to pay, resulting in an arrearage of $1,964.19. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only, plus conditions.

15-CR-072. Jerry D. Casey Jr., 35, Hanover, Ind., flagrant non-support.

According to the indictment, from Jan. 1, 2011 through Feb. 28, 2015, Casey allegedly failed to provide support he knew he was ordered to pay, resulting in an arrearage of $22,756.31. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
