Obituary: Ralph Carter Lasure, 64, Bardstown
Ralph Carter Lasure, 64, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at his home. He was born April 18, 1950, in Stanford to Manles and Grace Gilpin Lasure. He was graduate of Campbellsville University where he met his wife of 39 years, Dorinda. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. After teaching four years in Lincoln County, he taught English Literature and Greek Mythology for 31 years at Bethlehem High School. He later taught at Bluegrass Christian Academy.
He was very involved in the speech and drama programs at Bethlehem, leading them to regionals, state and Catholic Nationals in Washington DC. In 2004, he was inducted into the Kentucky High School Speech League Hall of Fame. Each summer he loved to travel with students on study tours to Europe. He was a mentor to many and a thoughtful, kind, and genuine person. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Dorinda Bradbury Lasure; one son; Chris Lasure (Meredith); three grandchildren, Lauren Yaste, Logan Livers and Samuel Lasure,
two sisters, Mary Alice Still and Alberta Wood; three brothers, Manles Lasure Jr., Paul Lasure and Charles Lasure; and numerous nieces and nephews.
To honor his wishes, the family has chosen cremation with a celebration of his life at a later date.
