Update: Rolling Fork to remain above flood stage through Monday

STAFF REPORT

Friday, April 29, 2011, 1:40 p.m. — The Rolling Fork River near Boston remained above flood stage Friday at 42.1 feet as of 11:30 a.m. The National Weather Service predicts now that the river will fall below flood stage by early Monday afternoon.

Flood stage for the Rolling Fork at Boston is 35.0 feet. Moderate flooding will continue through the weekend.

Additional rains that are expected to fall late Sunday will likely slow the river’s descent.
