Obituary: Bettye Jane White Lutes, 83, Bardstown
Bettye Jane White Lutes, 83, of Bardstown, went to her maker on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at her residence at The Nazareth Home. She was born April 29, 1931, in Bardstown. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Academy and worked at J.J. Newberry’s. After marrying, she moved to Louisville, then moved for a short time in Madison, Ind. and Dayton, Ohio until returning to her beloved Bardstown. She spent her final years at the Nazareth Home, and her family would like to thank all those who cared for her and were her friends at the Nazareth Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Harry” Lutes; her mother, Fronie Lee Janes White; her father, Cleo White; one sister, Emma “Marie” Pinkston; two nephews, Alan Lee Hay and Gary White Smith; and one niece, Donna Corine S. Clements.
She is survived by one sister, Anna Catherine White Smith; three nieces, Sheila (Wayne) Stoke, Denise Oliver and Tina Yates; four great-nieces, Anna (Chris) Pickett, Amber Scarborough, Bethany Yates, and Emma (James) Hollwedel; five great-nephews, Louis Stoke, Thomas (Lindsay) Clements, Matthew Smith, Beau (Stephanie) Oliver, and William Clements; three great-great-nieces, Lilly Pickett, Sienna Scarborough and Ava Oliver; and two great-great-nephews, Foster Pickett and George Hollwedel.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor officiating.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
