Obituary: Paul A. Civils, 92, Hodgenville

Paul A. Civils, 92, of Hodgenville, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at this home.

He was a native of Nashville, Tenn. and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Bowling funeral_doveGreen University with majors in Accounting and Business Administration. He was active in many civic groups such as Lincoln Days, Jaycees, Lions Club, the Lincoln Museum, American Legion, the Share and Care Club, Senior Citizens and the LaRue County Library Board. He was awarded honors such as a commission in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and Grand Marshall of the 2012 Lincoln Days Parade. He attended Hodgenville United Methodist church. He retired from ATF in August 1986.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Reed Civils; his parents, Earl and Sue Ferguson; his in-laws, Walter and Ada Reed; seven sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include his daughter, Ada Sue (David) Smith of McDonouth, Ga.; two sons, Paul A. (Pam) Civils Jr. of Greer, S.C. and David Civils of Hodgenville; two grandsons, Tyler (Amy) Civils and Marshall (Bennett) Civils; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with Bro. Gordon McDowell and Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial is in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may go to the LaRue County Public Library in Hodgenville.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd. in Hodgenville is in charge of arrangements.
