Obituary: Virginia Lee Calvert, 89, Chaplin

Virginia Lee Calvert, 89, of Chaplin, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at her home. She was born March 4, 1926, in Nelson County to the late Ezra and Eva Call Goff. She was a member of the Chaplin Christian Church and attended the Overland Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg. She was a homemaker.

funeral_flowerIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Calvert; one sister, Christine Crowley; and three brothers, Bobby Goff, Woodrow Goff, and Paul Colvin.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Roger) Runner and Caroline (Danny) Thomas both of Chaplin, and Sharon (Bruce) Chesser of Willisburg; two sons, Larry (Shelia) Calvert and Willard “Bud” (Donna) Calvert, both of Chaplin; one brother, Johnnie (Joyce) Goff of Chaplin; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015m at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. David Lanius and Bro. Harry Hebert officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
