Monday, April 27, 2015, 11:50 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon at 4:43 p.m. to a reported structure fire at the end of 1615 Borders Lane in the Botland community. When the first firefighters arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters requested mutual aid in the form of manpower and equipment from the Northeast Nelson Fire Department. Due to the location of the fire, fire crews had to set up temporary tanks and use tanker trucks to shuttle water to the scene. Firefighters had control of the fire in about 30 minutes. The fire spread from the home to a field, and firefighters had to contain that fire to keep it from spreading. Firefighters cleared the scene at 7:24 p.m.
