Obituary: Irene Browning, 87, formerly of Bardstown

IRENE BROWNING

Irene Browning, 87, formerly of Bardstown, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. She was born June 14, 1927, in Bullitt County to the late Grover Cleveland and Nora Lee Warden Logsdon. She was a homemaker and a member of Nelson County Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Myrel Steven Browning; one daughter, Patricia Gail Dishon; four sons, Earl Steven Browning, James William Browning, Kenneth Wayne Browning and Donald Lee Browning; and her sister Alene Cothern.

She is survived by four daughters, Betty Sue Jackson of Cox’s Creek, Wanda Couch of Bardstown, Norma (James Earl) Dishon of Lebanon Junction, and Mary (David) Heavrin of Cosby, Tenn.; one brother, Joseph Logsdon of Lebanon Junction; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery with Bro. Darrell Goodlett officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
