Columbia KSP investigating hit-and-run crash near the Burg

Sunday, May 1, 2011, 11:55 p.m. — The Columbia, Ky. Kentucky State Police post is investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened Saturday night on US150 near Fredericktown in Washington County near the Washington-Nelson County line.

According to the Columbia Magazine website, KSP Post 15 Trooper Christopher Saunders is investigating the collision involving a Bardstown woman and the driver of an unknown vehicle. Eric Karr, 21, was driving east on US150 in a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix when an unknown vehicle pulled into the center of US150 and stopped. Karr’s vehicle struck the rear of this vehicle and then went over an embankment. The unknown vehicle left the scene. Karr was transported by Washington County EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Washington County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
