Obituary: Kathleen ‘Kat’ Thurman, 73, Bardstown

Kathleen “Kat” Thurman, 73, of Bardstown, died Friday, May 22, 2015, at her residence. She was born May 4, 1942, in Bardstown. She was an avid bingo player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Evelean Smith; one sister, Linda Bea Smith; and one grandson, James Lee Baynes Jr.

She is survived by four daughters, Annette Baker of London, Tammy Walling of Brandenburg, April Coulter of Bardstown and Melissa (Shanna Hill) Lanham of Chaplin; three brothers, Jay Smith, Da Da Smith, and Eddie Smith, all of Bardstown; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Mill Creek Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go toward the services.
