Kenny Fogle, Post 121 event chairman, will again serve as master of ceremonies. Following welcoming remarks by Bardstown City Councilman Roland Williams, Mayor John Royalty will present his keynote address. The commanders of the three American Legion Posts will jointly place a wreath in honor of our local fallen veterans.

Those who plan to attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

The Memorial Day observance was started in the mid-1980s with the addition of a flag pole and permanent marker at the gazebo to honoring the cemetery site’s fallen soldiers year-round. Roy Brooks, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, served as master of ceremonies until his death in 2003.
