Obituary: Mary Evelyn Fenwick, 78, Bardstown

Mary Evelyn Fenwick, 78, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at her residence. She was born March 14, 1937, in Loretto. She was a former homemaker and member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Fenwick; her parents, Charles Edward and Marie Aline Mattingly; two sisters, Margie Ballard and Aline Vittitow; three brothers, Jim Ed Mattingly, Charles Thomas Mattingly and Joseph David Mattingly, Sr.; and one grandson, Eli Fenwick.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Medley (Phil) of Bardstown and Monica Smith (Jim) of Mount Washington; two sons, Dennis Fenwick of New Haven and Kevin Fenwick (Chrissy) of Bardstown; five sisters, Dolores Blady and Elaine Reynolds, both of Louisville, Frances “Borgia” Phillips (George) of Scottsdale, Penn., Monica Ballard of Loretto, and Diane Devine (Wally) of Willisburg; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Mass us 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 870 Saint Thomas Lane, Bardstown, with committal rites to follow in the church cemetery. The Most Rev. William F. Medley will officiate.

Urnbearers are her grandchildren, James Medley, Jacob Medley, Anna Wimpsett, Abby Fenwick, Luke Fenwick, Tyler Fenwick, Jay Smith and Kara Smith.

Memorials donations may go to Saint Thomas Cemetery Fund c/o St. Thomas Church.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
