Safety committee examines fire department split, new equipment needs

Sunday, May 31, 2015, 11 p.m. — The May 21, 2015, meeting of the Bardstown City Council’s Safety Committee. The committee discussed the coming separation of the two fire departments and the equipment the city fire department will need to have in place prior to June 30. The committee also reviewed cities similar in size to Bardstown and how they fund their full-time city fire departments. Mayor John Royalty also provided the committee a timeline of the events related to the fire department issue.
