Obituary: Margaret Regina Roberts, 85, Bardstown

MARGARET REGINA ROBERTS

Margaret Regina Roberts, 85, of Bardstown, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Bardstown to the late Joseph Leon and Mary Regina Nally Downs. She was a childcare provider for 40 years working from her home. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and St. Thomas Rosary Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leroy “Dick” Roberts.

She is survived by one son, Joseph David Roberts Sr. of Bardstown; two sisters, Martha Ann Clark of St. Francis and Rita Riordan of South Carolina; one brother, Joseph A. Downs of Bardstown; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeff Hopper as celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015, and 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
