Monday, June 1, 2015, 11 p.m. — The Bardstown City Council held a special meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, to discuss the proposed 2015-16 city budget. Mayor John Royalty formally introduced his 2015-16 proposed city budget to the council. Discussion focused on the plan to add seven fulltime firefighters to create the city’s first fulltime 24/7 fire department, and to fund the additional equipment needed with the pending separation of the city fire department and the Bardstown-Nelson County Volunteer Fire Department Inc.
