Bardstown man is charged in armed robbery, shooting incident

Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 2 p.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested Monday and charged in connection with robbery and shooting incident that happened Tuesday, May 26.
Dejuan J. Batten, 23, was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree wanton endangerment and is lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
According to a Bardstown Police press release, a man said that Batten robbed him of $150 cash at gunpoint while in his vehicle. The victim and his girlfriend fled the area in the victim’s vehicle and Batten allegedly fired several shots at his vehicle.
During the investigation, police recovered a bullet from a tire on the victim’s vehicle, and they obtained warrants for Batten’s arrest. On Monday, officer located Batten and he was taken into custody.
