City receives KLC grant to help purchase employee safety equipment

Wednesday, June 3, 2015, 3 p.m. — The City of Bardstown has received a grant from the Kentucky League of Cities to help fund equipment upgrades to improve employee safety. Joe Isaacs, a loss control specialist with the Kentucky League of Cities presented the check to Mayor John Royalty and Risk Manager Greg Ashworth in the mayor’s office Wednesday afternoon.

Ashworth said the $2.770 KLC matching grant was used to help purchase safety goggles, gloves, reflective vests, ear protection, rain gear and other items related to improving employee safety with the goal of reducing the city’s worker’s compensation claims.
