Man suffers facial injuries after altercation during police traffic stop

Monday, June 8, 2015, 12:28 a.m. — A man driving a blue pickup truck suffered minor facial injuries early Sunday morning after a confrontation with a Nelson County deputy sheriff. At about 3:13 a.m., the officer reported he was attempting to stop the pickup truck as it drove westbound on Springfield Road toward Bardstown. The vehicle eventually stopped for the officer in the area of Parkway Baptist Church. The driver allegedly failed to comply with the officer’s requests. The man was taken to the ground, receiving minor facial lacerations in the process. The man was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
