Leonard Hall Road closed due to rock slides, shifting roadway

Tuesday, May 3, 2011, 10 a.m. — Sections of Leonard Hall Road  have been closed due to rock slides blocking portions of the roadway. Motorists apparently are moving the barricades and using the roadway, a county road department employee reported this morning. Road department workers report that portions of the roadway, as well as the side of the entire knob the road travels, have moved.  “If someone comes through there and doesn’t know (about the rock slides) they could get hurt,” one county employee reported this morning. The road department will consult with magistrate Keith Metcalfe about putting up better barricades to keep people off the roadway.
